According to Imostateblog.com, Mrs. Igwe had served as the local government chairman of Ideato north before she became a member of the state house of assembly. A few months ago, she emerged as APGA’s consensus candidate for Orlu Senatorial District.
Reports say pressure was mounted on the state party executives to drop her for some of the defecting senatorial aspirants from others parties, but the party eventually settled for her.
Sources close to her family told imostateblog.com that she might have been poisoned. She was said to have gone into coma yesterday and never came out of it.

It will be recalled that men of the Nigerian police force last week discovered and defused two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted at a popular eatery located around the Ikenegbu area of Owerri.
